love

love is like the ocean

the blue horizon embraces me

the sun reflects diamonds

it does not beg

relentless ecstasy

but the softness of the afterglow

when the moon gently falls across my soul

the journeyman of my heart

traveling my map-less life

mostly roads of dirt

the perfume of salt touches my neck

and the sea spray tousles my hair

when life and waves are merely an intriguing flirt

to frame a timeless me

love is an understanding that touches and crashes at my feet

a trust

an honesty

to take the unusual of me

in a traditional world of be

like a storm worn cottage gazing out to sea
