moon

and who are you

what makes you look up

from your thoughts

what makes your lips slightly curl

and then dance in laughter

what makes your eyes

twinkle with anticipation

an unexpected guest

what stops the world

and makes your peace be still

how often in this day did you feel alive

when love flowed from your heart

to whoever was there to catch it

do you ever feel afraid

at night

when the world seems a stranger

if you do

rest assured

i do too

so if you look at the moon tonight

and find your galaxy in the universe

know i am looking too
