my ghosts

i shall walk myself home

every morning

i will look towards the sun

and when it sets

i will find the path

of golden moon glow

i will breath in the air

and go where flowers are everywhere

and if i ever dream of marrying again

i will wear them in my hair

and i will follow curvy roads lined with trees

to open fields

of daffodils in spring

and fireflies in summer

like diamonds in the sky

a serenade

a chorus of frogs

gathered by the pond

and in the fall

i will hear a symphony of colored leaves

dancing

twirling

falling at my feet

and i will tread gently

in this perfect peace

and in the days of barren trees

and frozen window panes

a trace of glitter like a star

shimmering

against the empty blue

just like my heart missing you

i will feel a tear tumble down my cheek

and in that single moment

i will know

i am alive

and home is just a stone’s throw away

in my heart

i always always somehow arrive

and only ghosts are there

standing by my side

in my life everything blue

the skies

the eyes

the seas

the mountains tinged in gray

the awe

the sighs

always a promise

a message

always always a gift that is true

to forever hear the words

“i love you”
