potter’s wheel

there are some regrets

that cannot be fixed

giving yourself away

for one

is a tragic mistake

it is better

to be your own

alone

than to give yourself away

and still be solo

life is a gift

open it

every gift is different

every canvas

requires a different stroke

the familiarity of peace

the moment of flow

belonging

is a warm hug

conversations understood

being owned

shuts down

the faucet of words

we are less lonely

being our own

than wearing a mask

to please someone else

becoming

is less of a task

and more an unfolding

a potter’s wheel

for souls

a transformational molding

by our own desires

we put kindling

on our soul’s fire

it is our light

in the world

the candle

worth holding

even in the darkest

of empty nights

moments

when our world

feels at peace

and our soul’s longing

comfortable

in its bones and skin

the essence of

all is right

and put away

in its place

and if we jump

into the unknown of space

before we come

face to face

with the ground

coming down

we realize

free souls

have wings
