wreckage

some people will misfortune

they smother their world in darkness

every morning a reminder

it is another day

they wake and say

unlucky me

they never notice stars

only wars

inside themselves

heirlooms from another day

that they refuse to pack away

and to live in their midst

is to fulfill their

self fulfilling prophecy

be collateral in their wreckage

defined by somebody else

that drowning feeling

of sinking away
